I remember loving this strip as I was drawing it. The classic awkwardness of introducing a significant other to one’s parents is made all the more excruciating by the over-the-top mid-life crisis of Dex’s father. I also love how the parents are suddenly just THERE in the scene — not the best visual storytelling, but the idea of the dad moonwalking, or whatever he’s doing, into the panel behind Dex’s back makes me laugh.
